Dove Love: Nutrium Moisture Body Wash

I received my Dove Nutrium Moisture Body Wash the exact same day I ran out of my usual body wash so it was a fantastic coincidence that I didn't have to go out and get more! I'm going to be ultra-dramatic and call it a miracle sent down to me by the body wash gods... well, and Dove.

Dove Body Wash

Though I wasn't so excited that I stripped down and got in the shower at that moment to try out my new Dove Nutrium Moisture Body Wash, I did shower the following morning before work and was surprised at how wonderful it made me feel upon using it. The consistency is more of a silky-foamy-lotion than a regular body wash soap with a really mild scent, which I liked. I've used it every day since and have felt a considerable difference in how soft my skin is. It really nourished and moisturized so well that I didn't need to apply lotion after drying off. And since I tend to run late, one less step in the morning is a definite plus in my book!

I'm already a huge fan of Dove shampoos and conditioners and am happy to add more Dove love to my showers and nourishing bathing rituals.

How do you nourish yourself each day?

Mary Kay!

Mary Kay box

To be honest, the only Mary Kay beauty product I had in my collection when I received the pretty package above was an eyeshadow compact that was my mom's from the early 80's. I know, weird, but I think she used to sell Mary Kay products so they were always lying around the house when I was a kid. I suppose I still have them for sentimental reasons? But maybe I'm a hoarder? But for some reason, Mary Kay never really registered as a product I'd use... now.

And then I pulled the pretty satin ribbon off of the matte black box and found a perfect little eyeshadow and blush compact made specifically for blue eyes. I was happy to see that it was pretty similar to the color palette I already use ...browns, coppers, golds, peaches; complementary shades to blue are always in the orange spectrum of the color wheel.

Mary Kay eyeshadow and blush

Inside the box was a little 1-2-3 step-how-to apply the specified colors to your lids depending on the shape of your eyes. Easy and simple and perfectly flattering. Love that.

Honestly, I liked them so much, I've been wearing the Mary Kay eye shadows on a regular basis since I first tried them a week ago. I also use a little of the peachy blush on my lids to brighten it all up a bit for a nice Summery look.

mary kay lip stain

The kit also included a mascara and a tinted lip balm. And since my straight/short/blonde eyelashes are a nightmare to work with, I was pretty happy with the lush mascara. But the bright pink tinted lip balm was a little more my speed. 1. I hate lipstick and mostly wear gloss 2. Super brights are on trend for Summer. I love that I can just grab it and apply without a mirror.

kissing lips

...and the sweet flavor makes for perfectly kissable lips!

Introducing bodycology rich&creamy — a NEW line of Body Washes and Body Lotions that I AM LOVING!

bodycology body wash and lotion 1

When I received my bodycology rich&creamy Skin Softening Body Wash and Body Lotion package, I had just returned from my morning jog ...and yes, I needed a shower! The timing couldn't have been more perfect to try out these new fabulous skin-softening formulas because really, who doesn't want softer skin?!

I'm a huge fan of what I like to call "Scrubby Gloves" for extra soft skin and with the addition of bodycology rich&creamy Body Wash, I could only imagine it being the smoothing equivalent of icing on the cake. When I squeezed the Body Wash into my scrubby glove, I realized it has a foamy yet gel-like texture that lathered and sort of stayed on my skin unlike other body washes. It rinsed off just as easily as it went on. The scent was different than I would normally choose, but I actually really liked it.

After my shower, I applied the rich&creamy Lotion which went on smoothly without leaving a greasy filmy feeling. I hate when lotions leave you feeling like it's humid outside regardless of the weather.

Together, this rich&creamy Skin Softening duo made my skin feel soft and luxurious all day, which I'm guessing had something to do with the Silk and Avocado Oil that locks in moisture and heals dry skin.

I'm totally on board with adding the rich&creamy Skin Softening duo to my daily routine and there are 6 fabulous formulas to choose from which are all formulated with aquation Hydration Technology, an exclusive moisture complex of essential nutrients including:

• Glycerin to add silky, all-day hydration
• Jojoba Extract to improve skin's texture
• Petrolatum to act as a barrier to harsh elements

Are you interested in winning a bodycology gift basket with the skin softening goodness to try for yourself? I thought so!

Which of the six formulas of body lotion and body wash will you choose? Visit bodycology.com then leave me a comment sharing which formula is right for you and you’ll be entered to win.

* This giveaway of a bodycology gift basket is open from July 5 - 31st.

* And check out bodycology on facebook, for hydrating tips and a hydration quiz.

Making our Nights Amazing with Stouffer's Sautes for Two!

This is a sponsored review from BlogHer and Stouffer's.

Like most modern couples today, the husband and I are busy, busy, busy ...but mostly, when it comes to food, we're just down right lazy. We go out to eat a lot but more often than not we order in. Spending $40 - $60 a night ordering dinner in gets expensive so when BlogHer offered to feed us for two nights, we just couldn't say no.

DSC_0018

Our Stouffer's Sautes for Two arrived in a freezer box the next day and we were eager to try one out pronto. Touting "Grilled White Meat Chicken with Asiago Tortelloni and Spinach Tossed in a Rich Cream Sauce", we opted for the Chicken Asiago to cook up first. I read the instructions - super easy, opened the bag and tossed it all into a skillet, baked up a few pieces of garlic bread to go with it, grabbed the wine and before I could even pour our glasses, dinner was ready and served. In literally, 12 minutes!

DSC_0024

The husband grew tired of me photographing our dinner rather quickly so we dug right in.

I have to admit, I was a bit surprised by the taste. IT WAS GREAT! I was expecting hard, rubbery chicken pieces but got not-a-one! It was flavorful and fulfilling and perfect for two!

DSC_0022

Two nights later, Friday night to be exact, we thought we might try heating up Stouffers Sautes for two again instead of going out for our normal Friday Sushi night ...and I'm so glad we did! Just minutes after we decided to stay in, it started raining and was too chilly to go out {yes, LA chilly but still!}.

DSC_0394

I whipped up the Prime Rib Steak and Penne Pasta with Roasted Red Peppers and Sun-Dried Tomatoes Tossed in a Creamy Alfredo Gorgonzola Sauce in minutes, made a little italian salad on the side, poured some Merlot and sat down for a perfect meal for two. I'm not sure why I was surprised again but IT WAS GREAT! The steak was tender and juicy and quite honestly, my favorite part.

DSC_0412

I'm not exaggerating when I say, I'm 100% sure we're going to stock our freezer up with Stouffer's Sautes for Two asap! They're not only quick and easy and delicious, they're affordable, and they brought us together in the kitchen and at the table for just a bit longer than we normally would stay ...and special, quality time together is always a good thing.

Are you interested in winning $100 Visa gift card from BlogHer? I thought so :) Tell me how you find that extra bit of special time together with your significant other?

I LOVE my laptop powered by the Intel® Core™ i5 processor with Intel® Wireless Display (aka WiDi)

This is a compensated review by BlogHer and Intel.
THIS CONTEST IS NOW OVER ...Thank you for participating.

I never knew how useful a laptop would be until receiving this brand new laptop with the Intel® Core™ i5 processor from BlogHer {Thanks guys!}. It is literally making my life 10 times easier and I just LOVE it!

toshiba laptop The Intel® Core™ i5 processor open

I've been uploading all my videos and photos onto it because my desktop is at full capacity and when I'm sick of sitting at my desk in my office, I can continue to get work done out in the living room lounging next to my husband {the processor is mighty quick and can handle a bunch of programs running at once}. I LOVE the embedded, or built in, Intel® Wireless Display (aka WiDi) via Intel —a technology that allows you to stream any form of media to your HDTV, wirelessly -used with the Netgear adaptor. It's really fun to watch videos on my 60" TV instead of the small computer monitor and in HD! However, I have to save the videos to my hard drive first because for some reason, I'm booted offline when Netgear is connecting.

WiDi+Toshiba laptop+viewing my computer on my HDTV+living room

Starting and setting up the laptop was easy and to the point {which I wasn't expecting} and it took me through each of the steps quickly. I was confused a bit about the Best Buy software installer that kept popping up so I Googled it to see if it was necessary and found out it wasn't and turned off its updates {sorry Best Buy, but that was annoying!}. I also have had entire computers get eaten alive by using Internet Explorer so I quickly installed Firefox and shut down Explorer for good.

I love the way it looks. It's so pretty and shiny and blue, it looks like my Black Widow Halloween costume ...and I LOVE the backlit keyboard. It looks fantastic in our newly decorated Rock n' Roll video game room and will take a permanent position on the golden stump.

Now what's in it for YOU ...your very own chance to win a $250 gift card to Best Buy!

My life just so happens to revolve around my computer.

This is a compensated review by BlogHer and Intel.

Working as a graphic and web designer for over 10 years, I finally took advantage of my skills in 2007 and started blogging. While I dreamed that blogging would one day afford me to be a stay at home mom, I really had no idea what I was getting myself into. Blogging is hard work. And anyone who thinks they're going to create a blog & be an overnight success is sadly mistaken {unless you are unbelievably lucky or Oprah finds you and makes you her pet project}. As in any business you start, it takes a few years before you begin to reap any rewards but because you are your own boss, it's all worth it.

Now a full-time blogger/part-time graphic & web designer for an art dealer in Los Angeles, I have to manage my time down to a T just to be able to stay on schedule. Yes, it's my own created schedule, but how else do you run a small business successfully? Since I'm at the art gallery 3 days out of 7, I need to take advantage of every single minute when I'm away and multi-task whenever possible. Sometimes I wish I could create a clone of myself just so I can get more done ...faster.

I'm currently using a desktop with 232.57 GB of space ...and of that 232.57 I am running with about 957.7 MB to spare at any given moment. Yes. I'm all used up! In fact, in order to download any new photos onto my computer, I have to delete other photos. And since my blog is heavy in photos, whether they be of my daily outfit, my DIYs, hair styling video tutorials, a home decorating project, videos of my adorable dogs or just my life in general, I NEED MORE SPACE to really continue doing my various jobs successfully and/or storing digital memories.

And just when I thought I was going to have to delete some more of my very precious memories to free up some space, the fabulous people at BlogHer sent me a new computer! A brand new, top of the line laptop powered by The Intel® Core™ i5 processor with its Turbo Boost Technology allowing you to “Get More Done in Less Time” AND an Intel® Wireless Display (aka WiDi) adaptor so I can use my HDTV as a monitor. WAIT! Did you hear that?!?! Get More Done in Less Time ...it's like my very own clone.

Interested in checking out the Intel® Core™ i5 processor with its Turbo Boost Technology & WiDi out for yourself? Why wait? Now you can start doing. Get a smart Intel® processor inside in your next PC ...click here.
